Note that the kids are wearing long(ish) pants and long sleeve shirts. This is when the weather turned from awfully unbearably hot to moderate. Finally! What a summer!
Mary enjoys this scooter, although recently Ben has shown renewed interest in it. Mary actually uses it as intended to scoot around. Ben is more interested in perching it on the top of the small hill on our driveway and riding it down and launching into the bushes. I am happy that Mary likes to scoot around on it. I try to get her to alternate legs that are balancing and pushing because it is similar to some of the things she practices in physical therapy.
Ben is into tools and this hammer is his. This dump truck has been well-used over the years and now these wheels fall off constantly. Ben actually likes that and enjoys repairing them over and over again.
Both kids helped me build an ikea shelf recently. They liked counting and putting the wooden pegs in, turning the alan wrench, climbing in the shelf holes, reading the instructions. I don't know that they made the job go any faster, but they weren't much of a delay either.
