We took Ben in for his 4 month check-up and booster shots this afternoon. He measured about 25 inches and now weighs 15lb 12oz (slightly above the median). Everything is on track or ahead of schedule. The doctor was pleased (read surprised) about his teeth, established sleeping patterns, and his ability to roll over so well. We were surprised at his suggestion to possibly start rice cereal. Solid foods become important at 6 months so he said it would be okay to try and feed him solids once a day. He warned that feeding/eating solids will be an adjustment for both parent and child. It's basically up to us (and Ben) on how fast to ramp up to the solid food eating goal by 6 months of age. Jane already wants to go to the pool but we learned that we shouldn't apply sunscreen on Ben until he's 6 mos. Guess that means we'll have to wait until July for his first swim.
