Unfortunately, no rides on the hovercraft for Ben.
Ben played in his first snow after it warmed up a bit but he did not like walking in it so he just crawled.
While Ben crawled, Grandma Goodwin and Aunt Karen made yard art. 
Including an abstract of Michigan (a breaching whale to non-Michigan folks).
So Ben checked out the map in preparation for what was to come. A busy, but rewarding itinerary filled with lots of family:
A snowy visit to the first cousins, once removed, twice removed, etc. The supersized family meal deal with a few wild turkeys thrown into the mix.
Cousin Tommy's Christmas Eve Birthday dinner and opened a few presents early with Great Grandma Goodwin.
Ben donned a Christmas sweater for Christmas Day. Don't ask what's on his face.
With all the hustle and bustle of 14 adults, present opening was late. So during dinner dish washing, Ben had a bath and a wardrobe change, after which he was rearing to go (and hard to photograph).

Drove to Traverse City to visit with Uncle Russ, Aunt Kris, and Cousin Rusty. They had 30in of snow before we arrived but the warmer weather started to melt it all away. Still too high for Ben to crawl around in though. 
Whew. What trip. Ben crashed in the hotel on our last day. We did too.
Picked up the dog from the kennel and she immediately took over our bed, snuggled with Ben's blanket, and gave us the sad, evil eye for leaving her for so long.

That was a full flavored Mich. winter vacation. A good introduction for Eric and Ben.
